E30 to M3

Wondering if anyone has every transformed a standard E30 to an M3? Is it worth it?
I'm an old Chevy guy, and taking a standard Chevelle and making it an SS clone was never a big deal, but I'm thinking that it is a bigger deal with the E30's.
Amongst the BMW fans, how acceptable/unacceptable is it to make it just LOOK like an M3?
AND...last but not least...where can one get a decent body kit? Which is better, fiberglass or plastic?

Start with a 2 door e30 find the upper stut mounts the spings .... alternate engine ... some badging ... I'm missin something .. supposed to be in bed couple hours ago....TF2 keeping me up..
